Following a number of selection meetings the following team has been selected to represent the North East in the Area Team Championships 15th&16th May at Kinross

Kris Nicol Fraserburgh
David Law Hazelhead
Anthony Bews Murcar
Scott Larkin Royal Aberdeen

Philip McLean wins Edward Trophy |

Last weekend was a very successful one for North East Golfers with Philip McLean winning the Edward Trophy over 72 holes on Saturdeay and Sunday at Glasgow Gailes Golf Club. Peterhead member Philip had rounds of 68, 72, 69 and 73 to win by 1 shot from Brian Soutar(Leven golfing Society). For Philip who won the Leven gold Medal last year it was his second SGU ranking event victory. |

Kris Nicol finishes runner up in Lytham Trophy |

Kris Nicol, Fraserburgh Golf Club greenkeeper came second in the Lytham Trophy in Lancashire at the weekend. This result in the Lytham Trophy a very prestigeous event saw him rise 172 places in the R&A's World Amateur Golf Rankings to 377. |

On Sunday 25 April the Phillips Trophy was payed at Murcar Links. The winner was Craig Wilkinson. Craig, is in his first year in the North East having moved to Aberdeen from the North of England at the end of the 2009 golfing season. On moving to Aberdeen through work committments he joined Newburgh on Ythan Golf Club and plays off a handicap of +1.
Craig was surprised but very much delighted to win the Phillips Trophy being his first tournament in the North East and not knowing any of the entrants nor the standard of play in the North East and is looking forward to getting to know his new found friends and playing golf accross the area.

It was a good showing by the North East boys who played in the North of Scotland Boys at Torvean for the HS Spence Trophy.
Ben Murray (Portlethen) scored 67 (2 under par) in the afternoon for a total of 140, Ben finished second to Ross Proctor (Forres) who had an excellent a total of 134 (4 under par) and Neale Barnes (Deeside) was third with a total of 140.
Andrew Carrell (Peterculter) won the U16 scratch with a total of 140. |
