URGENT
Unfortunately the weather has beaten us yet again and today's Under 14's Championship has had to be postponed and will now be rescheduled for Friday 30th July with the same tee times applying.
Although the rain has eased at Peterculter for the moment there are several greens under water and large amounts of surface water on the course. Added to that the greenkeepers cannot get anything cut and it will take some time before they could start to prepare the course. With the forecast for showers throughout the day it was decided to call it off and reschedule for Friday 30th July.
The Paul Lawrie North East Boys Under 14 Championship is in doubt today Friday 16th July - there will be a further course inspection at 7.30am and players should check the web-site or contact George M Young, District Secretary on 07590983153 before leaving for the course.
The Paul Lawrie NE District Boys Championships being held at Peterculter today 15 July have been cancelled due to the weather conditions. They will now be played on Thursday 29 July. The existing draw times will be used. The semi finals and finals will be played on Friday 30 July.
The under 14 event which takes place tomorrow 16 July is not affected at present. Players should turn up for tee times as posted. |

A very blustery Inverurie hosted the innaugural Handicap Championships on Sunday 4 July. A flurry of late enties saw the field rise to a very respectable 70 from 13 clubs. This was the first time the North East District had held an event for the "average" club player. All those who took part were delighted to have the opportunity to participate in a district event and witness what the North East District is all about.
A very successful day and one which will certainly be repeated next year.
